The Rennaisance Music Academy is a non-profit community music school, founded in 1993, serving all of southwest Virginia and offering music instruction using the Suzuki method. We are Certified by the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts for our quality programs.

The RMA receives support for its programs from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. The school is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. The RMA has established a component fund at the Community Foundation of the New River Valley. This permanent endowed fund provides scholarships to families demonstrating financial need and commitment to RMA programs. The fund is named the "Frank and Shirleigh Marvin Scholarship Fund" in honor of their service to the RMA.

Offering:

Students accepted ages 2 through Adult. Scholarship Assistance is available for those who qualify.

Recent News:

  • Interested in Summer Lessons? Contact the RMA office at 552-1383 or email us for more information. Summer lessons available from June 9 through September 5.
  • Fall Registration Deadline is July 1, 2008. Packets will be mailed early June to RMA students.
  • Claire Lo, piano student of Teresa Ehrlich, will graduate from high school May 2008. She plans to attend James Madison University as a Music Major in Piano, and has been awarded the Dingledine Scholarship. Six scholarships are offered each year (out of 300+ applications). Each one is equivalent to full in-state tuition for four years, and is JMU's biggest scholarship that they offer.
